Sedation Dentistry in Mesa, AZ

Sedated patient, Sedation Dentistry

Dental anxiety can keep people from getting the oral care that they desperately need. People who feel anxious about dental visits can put off visiting their dentist to the detriment of their teeth and oral health. At Broadbent Dentistry, we care about our patients and want them to always feel comfortable and relaxed in our office. We offer sedation dentistry to our Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler and Tempe patients who suffer from dental anxiety so that they can get the care that they need without the worry or the stress.

With our sedation dentistry treatments, you can enjoy your visit to the dentist, even if you’ve suffered from dental anxiety in the past. At our office, we offer three different sedation dentistry methods to suit all of our patient’s individual needs. Choose between oral conscious sedation, nitrous oxide, and IV sedation before you come in for your sedation dentistry treatment.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral conscious sedation is a type of sedation dentistry that is administered by tablet. Before your procedure, you will take a small pill that will leave you feeling relaxed and completely comfortable during your dental visit. You will be conscious enough to answer questions, but you will experience no discomfort, and many patients say they forget about the procedure after it is completed.

Before you arrive, you will have to arrange for a loved one to drive you to and from the appointment after your oral conscious sedation. Oral conscious sedation has been proven to be completely safe, and completely effective. Oral conscious sedation is a great option for people who want a simple, stress-free way to relieve any anxiety they might experience at the dentist.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is a type of gas that will be administered when the sedation dentistry patient arrives. The patient will breathe in the nitrous oxide and then feel completely at ease and relaxed throughout their procedure. Nitrous oxide is completely safe and it wears off fast enough after the procedure that even if you had a nitrous oxide sedation dentistry treatment, you will be able to drive yourself home safely afterwards.

IV Sedation

IV sedation is a type of sedation dentistry that is administered using an IV. Like with oral conscious sedation, if you choose IV sedation, you will have to arrange for a ride to and from the dental office. IV sedation will keep you relaxed, calm, and comfortable throughout any dental procedure. IV sedation is a great option for patients who normally suffer from dental anxiety. IV sedation is by appointment only and must be scheduled after initial consultation.

All three of our sedation dentistry methods are safe, easy, and effective. Whether you choose oral conscious sedation, nitrous oxide, or IV sedation, you will be able to feel comfortable and relaxed even if you suffer from severe dental anxiety. Don’t let anxiety stop you from getting the healthy, beautiful smile that you’ve always wanted. To find out more about sedation dentistry, call our office today with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
